An Ode to Cinema ~ إيما وسيما
The second edition of our Summer of (Sun)Screenings program, powered by USAID, is a collective ode to cinema. Through a wandering series of film screenings, discussions, masterclasses, and city walks, we aim to revisit and shed light on our current understanding of the cinematic space, as well as the relationship between cinema, architecture, and the city. Mark your calendars for July 18-29, and join us as we travel across 4 different cities in Egypt: Cairo, Tanta, Alexandria, and Ismailia.
Our line-up features titles from Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, and Argentina; each highlighting a distinct aspect of cinema-going as a social practice shaped by different times and places. Despite their diverse journeys, all of our film protagonists share a common passion:
their greatest love for Cinema.
