Mahmoud Hemeda is an Egyptian animation director, CEO/co-founder of Samaka Studio, and co-founder of Animatex animation festival. A graduate of the High Cinema Institute, within his 13 years of experience in the field, Hemeda has accumulated diverse experience by animating work featured in TV & cinema; among those are “Hateer” (2012) and “Farkha Wa Laken” (2013). He has gathered immersive capacity in working with a myriad of animation styles. In 2018, his passion for representing and visualizing authentic visual culture moved him to cofound Samaka Studio, a leading Egyptian animation studio in the MENA region, to position authentic Egyptian/African animation as a strong competitor on both a regional and global scale.
