FILM MY DESIGN (FMD)
2ND EDITION
The second edition of the Film My Design (FMD) film festival was scheduled from the 27th to 30th of January 2022, at Zawya Cinema, located in Cinema Karim (15 Emad El-Din, Downtown). Bridging the worlds of design and film, the FMD 2022 festival brought together creative professionals and enthusiasts from Egypt and beyond. Through a diverse series of inspiring film screenings and conversations around furniture, installation, food and landscape design as well as architecture, crafts and urban life, the 2022 program conveyed creativity's ability in bringing about promise, purpose and change.

OPENING NIGHT
January 26th, 2022 marks the opening of the 2nd
edition of the Film My Design festival at AUC Tahrir Cultural Center!
The opening inaugurates with a welcome note by FMD’s Cofounders, a speech by US Ambassador to Egypt, and FMD’s 2022 program partner, Kyle Bergman, Director of ADFF in New York. This was followed by the premiere screening of the feature-length documentary ‘Mau’ in the MENA region. A reception was then held, where guests explored a large installation designed by FMD’s Design Sponsor, Studio Paradigm, with projections done by Kareem Osman.
CLOSING NIGHT
A closing ceremony was held on January 30th, 2022 to celebrate the finale of FMD’s successful second edition. This was hosted by FMD’s community partner “Esorus” at its newly launched Design Haus – a renovated, Art Deco villa located in Maadi and built in the 1940’s. Once housed the Embassies of Venezuela and Argentina respectively, the community-based venue now serves as a hub for local designers, suppliers and creative events.
