Women in the Field
of Architecture

Following the film City Dreamers, the director of New York’s Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF), Kyle Bergman, and the editor-in-chief of Architectural Record, Cathleen McGuigan, will embark on a conversation about the current state of women in the field of Architecture. Each year, Architectural Record hosts the prestigious Woman in Architecture Forum and Awards that is run by McGuigan. The conversation will cover a range of topics including why are women only 17% of the registered architects? Who are some of the next generation of women to watch as the future leaders of our profession? Is there a qualitative difference in leadership styles with firms that are led by women?

Speaker: Cathleen McGuigan is the editor-in-chief of Architectural Record, the nation’s leading architecture publication for 130 years. Under her leadership, Record has won the Grand Neal award, the top American Business Media award for overall excellence, among numerous other editorial awards.
