Khan El Khalili is an old Egyptian market that has proven to be an indispensable facet of Egyptian heritage. The historic site is known for showcasing the trinkets and treasures that spawn out of the most authentic Egyptian crafts by the most skilled of craftsmen. However, with ongoing social and economic challenges, Khan El Khalili’s historical and cultural significance is at risk with craftsmen’s professions being jeopardized. The Shadow of Khan follows the craftsmen of these disappearing professions to portray the beauty of their endangered crafts, their current struggles and their continuous efforts to save what they can before it is too late.
