Nobuyoshi Kikuchi is a 75-year-old Japanese book maker, who devoted his life to the design of over 15,000 books. In this intimate documentary with 3 years in the making, director Nanako Hirose, who is an apprentice of a Japanese renowned director Hirokazu Kore-eda, explores Kikuchi’s expert craftsmanship and creative process as he produces unique books inspired by their content. Through Hirose’s lens, we catch a rare glimpse into the beauty of Kikuchi’s work as he meticulously handcrafts every aspect of the final book.
