"All that breathes" Film Screening & Discussion
Join us for our upcoming screening of the critically acclaimed documentary "All That Breathes". This captivating film by director Shaunak Sen explores the efforts of two brothers in New Delhi as they strive to protect the black kite, a vital part of the city's ecosystem, amidst environmental and social challenges. The screening is followed by a discussion with Qamar Elqady (Communication & Policy Officer at Nature Conservation Egypt) and Omar Manjouneh (Film Director & Wildlife Camera Operator), moderated by Yomna Khattab (Writer & Director).

In one of the world’s most populated cities, two brothers — Nadeem and Saud — devote their lives to the quixotic effort of protecting the black kite, a majestic bird of prey essential to the ecosystem of New Delhi that has been falling from the sky at alarming rates. Amid environmental toxicity and social unrest, the ‘kite brothers’ spend day and night caring for the creatures in their makeshift avian basement hospital. Director Shaunak Sen explores the connection between the kites and the Muslim brothers who help them return to the skies, offering a mesmerizing chronicle of inter-species coexistence.

في أحد أكثر المدن المزدحمة بالسكان في العالم، يخصص شقيقان، نديم وسعود، حياتهما لحماية طائر الحدأة السوداء، طائر ساحر من الطيور الجارحة يُعرف بضروريته في النظام الإيكولوجي لمدينة نيودلهي، يتساقط من السماء بمعدل مقلق. وسط سموم بيئية وسخط اجتماعي، يقضي الشقيقان "إخوة طائر الحدأة السوداء" وقتًا طويلًا لرعاية هذا الطائر في مستشفى مؤقت تحت الأرض. من خلال الفيلم، يستكشف المخرج شوناك سن العلاقة الوثيقة بين فصيلة طائر الحدأة السوداء والشقيقين، وسعيهم بشغف لكي تحلق في السماء من جديد ويخلق قصة ملهمة عن كيفية تعايشنا مع مختلف الكائنات
