SUMMER OF (SUN)SCREENINGS
– AN ODE TO CINEMA
The second edition of our Summer of (Sun)Screenings program, powered by USAID, was a collective ode to cinema. Through a wandering series of film screenings, discussions, masterclasses, and city walks, we aimed to revisit and shed light on our then-current understanding of the cinematic space, as well as the relationship between cinema, architecture, and the city.
Our guests have joined us as we traveled across 4 different cities in Egypt: Cairo, Tanta, Alexandria, and Ismailia. Our lineup featured titles from Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, and Argentina; each highlighted a distinct aspect of cinema-going as a social practice shaped by different times and places. Despite their diverse journeys, all of our film protagonists shared a common passion: their greatest love for Cinema.
